Dr. Garet Edwards

Dr. Edwards is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed behavior analyst in the state of Louisiana. He specializes in verbal behavior assessment and intervention, the treatment of pediatric feeding disorders, and parent training for caregivers of children with autism and related disabilities. He began working with children with developmental disabilities in 2010 and is devoted to providing evidence-based interventions to children and their families that match their needs and lifestyle. Dr. Edwards received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Louisiana State University and his masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of South Alabama. He completed a pre-doctoral internship in psychology at the Marcus Autism Center through the Emory University School of Medicine, where he received training in skill acquisition, pediatric feeding disorders, and severe problem behavior. Dr. Edwards also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psychology at the Village Autism Center, where he received specialized training in early intervention and the verbal behavior approach. Dr. Edwards is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association. He has presented research and workshops at regional, national, and international conferences and has published research in the areas of autism treatment and caregiver training.
